LA Wildfires Destroy Stevie Wonder's Home

Sources claim, "Everything was destroyed - all of Stevie's memorabilia, photos, musical instruments, history, clothing, furniture, everything. It's all gone. It was his main residence and he is utterly devastated. Stevie's had to put his tour and appearances on hold while he deals with this."

My condolenses; natural disasters are very hard to deal with especially when its personal. Money can't replace memories.!!

You mean to tell me that Stevie's people could not take his valuable items out of the house! You know he cant see to do it himself.... geeze

That's really sad. I saw Stevie in concert on Tuesday night (Perth, Western Australia) and he was amazing.

How can you miss what you can't see. Jokes aside, the most important thing is noone was injured and/or died.

I'm praying for yo and your family Stevie, keep your head up and God bless you, at least we didn't lose what mattered most-----lives.

I'm so sorry to hear that :-(

At least he can't see the damage. I know that's bad.

I hope he had good insurance on his possessions. He may not be able to get everything back. But he has his health and what he can't feel, he can always remember.

my worst nightmare is losing all of my possessions (of course after losing my family) so my heart goes out to him. like someone else said though, at least no one was hurt. and at least he's got the loot to rebuild. try making only $30k a year and losing your home? money doesn't make it right, but it does help that he doesn't have to put the fate of his new home in the hands of an insurance agency.

This shit remind me of when Kareem Abdul Jabaar lost errthing in a home fire. Whole lotta history up in flames, gone. Hope he at least had da valuables insured so he can get some replacement cake.

My condolenses to Stevie, I hope his insurance was up to date. I wonder if his home was in one of the high risk areas? If so someone should have warned him about the potential for a fire when he has all of his valuables that can't be replaced.

umm no comment except sorry..

I am so very, very sorry. But, it is a blessing that Stevie and his loved ones are safe and unhurt. It seems that in these times, as things are being stripped away from us one by one, we are being reminded by our Creator that the most important thing is life.

I wouldn't wish this misfortune on anyone and I love Stevie as an artist and entertainer but didn't he give his former wife herpes or something like that? Maybe this is just karma.

Except, according to Stevie, the story isn't true.

From the Los Angeles Times:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2008/10/nope-stevie-won.html

"Nope, Stevie Wonder's house didn't burn in the fire"

“I’m grateful to say that my house was not burned down in the fire. I extend my sympathies to anyone who may have been touched by this horrendous event."

I am an employee for Stevie's household and everyone is trying to figure out where this rumor came from... His main residence isn't anywhere NEAR the fires, let alone his memorabilia!
