Even though Jay Z has not confirmed the rumors running rampant on the Internet that he's starting his own record label, "The Carter Music Group", they say he and Nas have partnered together on an album of duets called "The Kings of Hip Hop," to be released on the label early next year.

Kings of Hip Hop? Nas maybe in a few more years and a couple (BETTER) albums, but Jay? naaaaaa He has way more to go. For Jay "king of hustlers" is more of a fitting title.
Just cuz i can shake my ass to your music, laugh and be like "oh shit" when you drop a hot punch line doesn't make you a "king of hip hop".
Nor does the money in your bank account make you a "king of hip hop". Those zeros on them checks are ignorant dollars from people who are slaves to trends and "whats hot".

I dont think rap is played out, its just the format everyone wants to go with....Thuggin, fuckin bitches, flossin, pimpin, hustlin and all that nonsense that none of them really do and constantly repackage with every album is played.
Common and Kanye's album to me were a breath of fresh air. There are a few more, but i like to keep my posts short.
