The second degree battery conviction against Jena 6 defendant Mychal Bell, for his part in the lumping up of Justin Barker, has been thrown out of court. Mychal is expected to be released from prison, where he has been held since December, by Monday. Second degree battery charges against Carwin Jones and Theodore Shaw have also been reduced, while Robert Bailey, Bryant Purvis, and Jesse Ray Beard, all out on $70,000 bails, remain charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
