This is someone who had a 9/11 victim's son on his show, and asked him why he'd "disgraced" his dead father by associating himself with "Not in Our Name", which if you don't know is an organization consisting of 9/11 survivors or family and friends of those killed on that day, who oppose the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
When the guest correctly pointed out that George Bush Sr. funded the training of some of the prinicple people responsible for the atrocities of 9/11, O'Reilly cut his mic so the man couldn't speak.

While I certainly respect your opinion, I do have to disagree with part of that thinking. It is the parents' job to insulate their children from the material which is not appropriate for them. If Snoop is on the Muppets, he's not going to be doing a weed song or a pimp song, clearly. So what's the harm? The kids who see him there aren't supposed to have access to the work he does which glorifies or promotes things their parents don't want them doing. The idea that if a child sees someone who does something bad in a completely different context that this child will automatically know what that something was, and then do it immediately, is oversimplified.
If the celebrity who promotes sexual chastity is engaging in gangbangs in his/her personal life, to me, this is not a contradiction. The message is right, even if the person promoting the message is wrong. Whatever happened to "do as I say, not as I do"? There are plenty of activities I've engaged in during my life which I will certainly instruct my kids, when I have them, not to do.

Bill O'Reilly is absolutely not a reasonable, fair or balanced man.
This is someone who had a 9/11 victim's son on his show, and asked him why he'd "disgraced" his dead father by associating himself with "Not in Our Name", which if you don't know is an organization consisting of 9/11 survivors or family and friends of those killed on that day, who oppose the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
When the guest correctly pointed out that George Bush Sr. funded the training of some of the prinicple people responsible for the atrocities of 9/11, O'Reilly cut his mic so the man couldn't speak.

For every reasonable point O'Reilly makes, he also does something retarded like this. Snoop isn't coming off like a rocket scientist, but he doesn't have to intelligently debate Poppa Bear. Snoop is what he is, and O'Reilly isn't doing anything but getting more attention for him.
^True, he is giving Snoop publicity, or is Snoop playing into it to get himself publicity. Oreilly has talked about him before with no response, but then he is trying to promote a tour. All I can say is, we as a community should not play like Sharpton and Jackson, jumping behind Snoop and Luda just because they are Black. As a mother, I certainly did not want to see Luda promoting Pepsi in one breath and degrading women, promoting drug use in the next breath.(This was before he stopped doing that in his songs). I also was also dead set against Snoop being on the muppets or whatever that kid's show was. He is still running around glorifying pimping and smoking weed, so what kind of message would that have sent. We already have grown folks on the news forcing kids to smoke weed. While I certainly respect your opinion, I do have to disagree with part of that thinking. It is the parents' job to insulate their children from the material which is not appropriate for them. If Snoop is on the Muppets, he's not going to be doing a weed song or a pimp song, clearly. So what's the harm? The kids who see him there aren't supposed to have access to the work he does which glorifies or promotes things their parents don't want them doing. The idea that if a child sees someone who does something bad in a completely different context that this child will automatically know what that something was, and then do it immediately, is oversimplified.
If the celebrity who promotes sexual chastity is engaging in gangbangs in his/her personal life, to me, this is not a contradiction. The message is right, even if the person promoting the message is wrong. Whatever happened to "do as I say, not as I do"? There are plenty of activities I've engaged in during my life which I will certainly instruct my kids, when I have them, not to do.
If we raise kids right, simple awareness of the existence of certain things won't cause them to do it without thinking.
